First Half of 2008
Stan’s global proclamation ministry is guided by the moniker, “Whether across the sea, or across the street, folks will see the cross”. By God’s grace, such rings true in recent months. The Lord’s work has taken him speaking in four U.S. states, including his own, and three foreign nations, not including his own. He attended in-service professional training in Colorado and taught Pastoral Training in the Cook Islands. He served as administrative consultant for a sister ministry in New Zealand and counseled with spiritual seekers in his own community. In many and varied contexts of preaching, teaching, and personal ministry, the content and intent is consistent, “Christ and Him crucified” (I Cor 2:2).
May-November 2007
Stan labors under the moniker “Proclaiming Christ’s Aloha: Throughout the Islands, Across the Nation, Around the World”. He has, he does, he will.
May: Honolulu’s Kalihi Union Church hosted Stan for the first time on two successive Sundays. Immediately following, he departed for Auckland, New Zealand to join an international teaching team for Mt. Roskill Cook Island Christian Church’s spiritual life conference. While in country, he spoke repeatedly for the Salvation Army on Auckland’s North Shore.
June: The U.S. Midwest called. Stan ministered in two churches in Indiana, and networked in Ft. Worth, Texas for UCB Pacific Partners, a Christian Radio Discipleship ministry, with whom he sits on their Board of Directors.
July: Palm trees in the South Seas welcomed Stan’s ministry. His yearly two week teaching stint at Takamoa Theological College in Rarotonga, Cook Islands set the stage for local church ministry while in country. Upon return home to his Hawaiian Islands, he spoke at a local church on Oahu on the requested theme, “Why We Should Care About Missions”.
August: Central America’s Costa Rica was site of diverse ministry. Preaching in numerous local churches, Stan joined a team of Latin American ministers to offer Pastors Training and more in various locations around the country. En route, Stan attended Ambassadors for Christ Ministry Council meetings in Atlanta.
September – October: Commencing with local preaching engagements, Stan then departed on a lengthy itinerary. Navajo pastors and leaders in the Four Corners area of the Southwest were provided training by Stan and an assembled team, including AFC’s own Roger and Cheryl Marini! From there, he headed to the Midwest offering an extended Evangelism Seminar at Parkview United Methodist Church in Peru, Indiana. Parkview hosted Stan previous year, and has requested next! On to North Carolina. A burgeoning network of churches is utilizing Stan’s ministry. The Blue Ridge Mountains provided backdrop for a Pastor’s Retreat where Stan was featured speaker. Two separate churches in the Piedmont area hosted Stan to preach at Revival Series. In each case, God’s Word proved not only true, but powerful, touching numerous lives in substantive ways!
November: The Kingdom of Thailand in Southeast Asia provided the platform for Stan to train missionaries in the Youth With a Mission Discipleship Training School in Chiang Mai. Stan had not been there for two years, but a return date for 2008 sits perched on his calendar. Upon return home, Stan has been asked to preach in various local churches.
March-April 2007
Some consider the pace of life in Latin America to be a bit on the slow side. Perhaps. But ministry in March was anything but! Stan spoke in Sacavilla, Gautemala to an outdoor gathering of indigenous believers numbering over 1,200. Immediately following was departure for the mountain region of the country where village pastors had gathered for three days intensive training. These pastors traveled by motorbike, car, bus, and foot to attend. Back in the capital city, Stan preached in a Sunday morning worship service.
The next week, following speaking in a Couple’s Event in a city church, Stan and team drove, crossing the boarder into the country of El Salvador. Daytime pastors training sessions were followed by a couple hour interim allowing just enough time to traverse deep into the mountains where a second conference met each night! In the latter, when certificates of participation were handed out by the teaching team, smiles abounded.
In April, a four state U.S. itinerary found Stan in ministry including, AFC Ministry Council meetings in Georgia, consultation and networking in Illinois and Indiana, and preaching in Texas. Upon return to his home Hawaiian Islands, Stan had repeated local preaching engagements perched upon his calendar.
September and October 2006
Consistently proclaiming the whole gospel for the whole person was the flavor of ministry during autumn months in America, and springtime down under! Whichever side of the equator, the message is consistent. Local preaching ministry presented in two distinctly different churches in the Hawaiian Islands. In September, three US ministry stops included numerous sessions concerning “Christian Vision” at Parkview United Methodist Church in Peru, Indiana. In Lexington, North Carolina, Stan conducted a several day Spiritual Renewal/Revival week and Leadership Training Seminar at Beck’s Reformed Church. Other churches in the area are climbing on board planning similar ministry next year. En route west, Stan ministered across Arizona, highlighted by Navajo Pastors Training at Four Corners Native American ministry.
October took Stan to the Southern Hemisphere speaking at a Hindustani Fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand as well as offering a week long leadership conference at Mt. Roskill Cook Island Christian Church. In the latter, Stan was joined by various other international speakers.
Upon return home, he was the resource speaker at Mililani Presbyterian Church’s yearly Spiritual Retreat at Camp Mokuleia on the beach. Next day, following a 6.7 magnitude earthquake, he preached at the Church!
